Alltho i havent been posting that much lately, im still quite alive. Turned 26 last weekend and just relaxed a bit in the holidays, enjoying dinner with my family and just gaming a bit to relax.

My netbook was working with Mac OSX (Aspire One) until i screwed something up with a kext driver thingie. Dont know what yet, so i will have to work that out. Eventually i will most likely succeed in getting it working properly. And maybe ill get my normal laptop running on it aswell, sounds like an interesting challenge to get it all working on my Aspire 5920g.

For the rest … antispam and antivirus on my mailserver stopped working, which is incredibly annoying since now i get spammed to death. Will transfer it all to a newly installed mailserver with working antispam and antivirus.

And I’m still dating Tiril. Have not seen her this christmas tho and I really did miss her alot. Hopefull i get the chance to see her in february. Lova ya Tiril.

Well, still playing with the Aspire one. Actually had OSX Leopard 10.5.5 running on it, untill i rebooted … When I rebooted, it just kept on telling me to restart using the power button .. So I abandoned that for a while, and wondered if the device was powerfull enough to run Windows XP Pro on it. There are offcourse windows xp versions of the device, but this one was the linux version with the ultra crap SSD.

It is actually highly possible to run XP on it. It just requires some optimizations:

• Turn off the page file (not recommended if you have 512mb ram or less)
• Turn off prefetch
• Remove all not needed windows components (and linux users, dont say format c: /q, i said components, not remove windows itself)
• Turn off all not needed services.
• Turn off shadow copy services and system restore points

This will ensure that the harddisk is used as little as possible. And if you upgraded the ram in the little device like i did, it will run very smoothly. You will notice that its a slow SSD when you run windows updates, that takes about twice to three times as long as on a normal machine with a proper harddisk.

Next plan is to get OSX working properly on it, so i can play around with it. Just to try it out to see if i want to buy a real macbook.

Yes it’s true no hacks no unlock sims. It works by updating through itunes. Took em a while, but I’m a happy camper now

Yes its almost weekend again. Another week going by. This week i was ill at home for most of the work week :(.  Wasnt feeling well and was very tired. Did receive my Iphone this week. (and now the rant starts). 

The phone company where i bought it was T-Mobile, they took over the old company i was @ (orange) and they said i could get an iphone and work with the orange sim untill the new contract kicked in. The guy sounded reliable so i thought, why the heck not. And now the bullshit begins to build up. 

So I receive the Iphone at home, put in the Orange Sim and surprise surprise, the connection to the provider doesnt work. So i call the service desk of tmobile and they tell me that i have to activate my tmobile sim and use that instead. I am like “NO WAY” not paying 2 subscriptions. So they patch me through to another helpline which says they can give me an apple update that would unlock my phone through itunes. They would call me the same day.

Offcourse they didnt call, so the same night i call them again. I start calling a bit before 19:00 and they finally pick up @ 20:05. Their reponse to me being pissed: “Im sorry sir that department is closed”. I was seriously like: WHAT THE FUCK. I wait for an hour and i get nothing. They would offcourse call me the day after. Which also didnt happen, so I ring them again. This guy i get some other idiot who tells me that Tmobile doesnt unlock phones anymore because apple doesnt want them 2 do that. I got so mad at that point that i just hung up in the middle of that guys sentance. After that i called them up to file an official complaint. The result of that was, they would actually work on that complaint in 25 days. So they will do absolutely nothing with it for 25 days!

So now that T-Mobile will not fix my phone for me, i will have to do it myself. A nice guy from Almere is going to assist me with that. Ipwned Iphone 3g ftw.

Added the page with the specs of all my machines running at home. Will keep this up to date for my own purposes and for showing off specs :p

Well the site has a new skin i like. Now just to add the functionality i want and i should be done pretty quickly

Yay im dicking around with the site again. Figured i might aswell install wordpress, since all im doing is posting nonsense on a daily basis anyway. So here i am going to post my nonsense from now on for a while atleast. Will be doing some work on this site and changing the looks and adding the pages about my laptop/server/desktop.

Stuff i will blabber about:

- World of Warcraft (played it since release)
- My girlfriend (relationship is a whopping 4 months old now)
- Random nonsense i feel like getting out of my system
